ABOUT US

GAMPA originated in 2022 during the initiation of the COVID pandemic. Healthcare was facing unprecedented times and team work became essential. It brought realization into healthcare disparities and how particular groups can be disproportionately affected. During a meeting with Physician Assistants from various specialities, it was brought to our attention of the lack of representation in the community in which they serve. Thus the lack of access to quality of care. As of 2019, Minority healthcare Doctors make up 5% and African American surgeons are estimated to be 3%. African American Physician Associates make up 3.6% while Latinos make up 6.6%.
